San Francisco Art Collections
My two favourites to call in at on any visit to San Francisco are the Legion of Honor gallery and the de Young museum.
San Francisco's premiere art gallery, the Legion of Honor has a terrific collection of French artists such as Claude Monet, Degas and Renoir. The finest French sculptor, Rodin, is represented by more than 70 pieces. Monet's 'Sailboat on the Seine' is here in San Francisco, imagine!
American art, included works from Central and South America are showcased in the San Francisco de Young museum. Their displays also include works from the Pacific Islanders as well as African art.
